A Record of Our Own Campaign is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will use it. For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is the Zahid Mubarek Trust, 213 Haverstock Hill, NW3 4QP. 

PERSONAL DATA WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU  

We collect and process the following data about you: 

  • Information that you provide when you contact us

  • Information we may also receive information about you from third parties, such as your name, postal address, email address, phone number.

  • Information or material that you post or contribute to our website and social media

  • If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence. 

  • Information you provide when responding to a consultation or survey requests from the Campaign team. 

Data Protection law recognises that personal information such as sensitive personal data, including health information, race, religious beliefs and political opinions are more sensitive. We do not usually collect ‘sensitive personal data’ about our supporters or beneficiaries unless there is a clear reason for doing so, such as where we need to refer specific vulnerabilities of people because of their protected characteristics. However, we will always make it clear to you when we collect this information from you, what sensitive personal data we are collecting and why. We will seek to obtain your consent to our use of your personal information. 

 

WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA 

  • All information you provide to us is stored on our password protected secure server. 

  • Any identifiable data you provide will be retained securely by the ZMT for the duration of the Campaign, and then up to one year after the Campaign completion date, after which it will be securely deleted.  
     

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA 

  • To maintain our records. 

  • To communicate with you via email, telephone or post as somebody who wishes to have this communication from us.

  • To communicate with you about upcoming events, reports and relevant information. 

 

ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA 

GDPR gives you various rights about the information held about you. You have the right to view, amend and delete the information we hold about you. You also have the right to restrict how we use this information and to object to us using the information at all. Your rights can be exercised at any time by email info@arecordofourown.org

 

IP ADDRESSES AND COOKIES 

Cookies are pieces of data created when you visit a site, and contain a unique, anonymous number. They are stored in the cookie directory of your hard drive, either temporarily or permanently.
